Google has announced that as of yesterday, everyone is now able to access Search Engine Optimization reports in Google Analytics via query data from linked Google Webmaster Tools accounts. In June, Google had a limited release of this feature, but as of yesterday, it is now available for everyone! Learn what you’ll be able to see, and how to get it all set up.
To find these reports, navigate to the Traffic Sources section, and select Search Engine Optimization.
Once you integrate your Webmaster Tools account with your Google Analytics account, you will be able to run the following reports within the Google Analytics interface:
View Google Webmaster Tools data on top search query data, including Impressions, Clicks, Average Position, and Clickthrough Rate. Users have the option to filter this data by Country and/or Google Property.
View Google Webmaster Tools data on top landing page URL data, including Impressions, Clicks, Average Position, and Clickthrough Rate. Again, users have the option to filter this data by Country and/or Google Property.
View Google Webmaster Tools data by country, including Impressions, Clicks, Average Position, and Clickthrough Rate.
How To Link the Two Accounts
Once you navigate to those reports, you’ll likely see a screen that looks like this:
You’ll want to select Set up Webmaster Tools data sharing to begin linking your accounts. In the Webmaster Tools Settings, select Edit to continue choosing the accounts you want to link together.
Now you’ll be taken to Webmaster Tools where you can select the account you want to link. If you are part of an agency and manage several accounts, you’ll see them all listed here.
Simply select the account you want associated and Save, then Apply on the next screen to complete the process.
You should now be able to view the reports mentioned above within your Analytics interface. Have fun exploring!
